1)      Game length minimums shall follow YSMHL Policies and Procedures (in Constitution Document)

2)      One 30-second time out is allowed per team per game in all YSMHL Playoff games

3)      Overtime

a.       No 10-minute overtime period in YSMHL round robin play.

b.       Any Quarter-final, Semi-final, or Final game in YSMHL Playoffs is subject to overtime period(s)

c.       Overtime will be 3-on-3 skaters in period lengths of 10 minutes until a winner is declared (sudden victory).

d.       If after 3 10-minute periods, a winner is not declared, a new game shall be scheduled. The team/centre that has first ice available shall host the next game.

e.       Penalties: The Offending team will place a player in the penalty box but continue with 3 skaters. Non-offending team will add 1 skater (power play – 4-on-3). Once the penalty expires the offending player will return to the ice and 4-on-4 play will continue until the next stoppage, at which time it will revert back to 3-on-3 play.

f.        Teams shall change ends between Overtime periods

g.       Additional flood during overtime shall be at discretion of on-ice officials


4)     
Tie Breaker Rule for Playoff Play

a.       Head to Head competition in Round Robin play, not League schedule

b.       Goal differential percentage determined by GF/(GF + GA) between tied teams playing in head to head in that Playoff round; highest percentage will advance

c.       Goal differential percentage determined by GF/(GF+GA) for tied teams for all games in that Playoff round, highest percentage will advance

d.       Most goals between the tied teams for that Playoff round

e.       Least penalty minutes between tied teams including misconducts for both coaches and players at 10 minutes each, major penalties at five minutes each, and all two minute penalties to date.

f.        Coin toss.

5)      There will be no re-seeding after Quarter Finals. Teams advancing will do so based on the published flowchart.

6)      Home ice in every series (including Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, YSMHL Finals) will be determined by the regular season standings regardless of re-seeding from round robins or previous series.
